I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: WHY would you want a day without music?? A day with police, politicians, poltergeists, mummies, muddy shoes, mudslinging, mooses, monkeys, manic depressive mothers, but music makes no sense ... quit taking up space for nothing

Mike Ashton
21/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: NO OXYGEN DAY sounds like a lot more fun.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I bought some CDs today (which I haven\'t done for several months). I listened to several albums on my MP3 player, and my own work in progress for my next album. I\'m teaching my wife to use my portable audio recorder. I just might record some more music tonight specifically in protest of this ridiculous project.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I am observing it because it is not just a funny artistic statement: it is an occasion to think about how much musical crap is around these days and how for this - and the major label crisis - the same major labels are mostly to be blamed. I am not observing it 100% because for professional reasons I had to listen to part of an old 12" I got in the mail yesterday (I needed it for an article and forgot today was No Music Day--- ;)).

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Blogging about this non-event on Italian website http://blog.mytech.it (see direct link to the article on http://blog.mytech.it/index.php/2007/11/21/no-music-day-oggi-niente-radio-ipod-mp3/) and writing other stuff. Not producing any music today (among other things I run a label/music publishing company).

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I am not observing NO MUSIC DAY. It's eleven O'clock at night on the 21st of Nov, I regret I have missed it. Although I embrace the idea whole heartedly, and will be promoting it next year with gusto.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Next year, I WILL.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: trying to avoid music. I have failed (abysmally), has anyone succeeded?

Mark Taylor
21/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I've been listening to music for as long as I can remember. In fact, I can't remember a single period of 24 hours in my life where I have not listened to music, in some way. Furthermore, I DO download music illegally -- though I do so less and less these days as I get more money to buy it and more options are open to consumers, especially in the online market (but that's a whole 'nother story. This doesn't mean I don't enjoy music. It DOES mean, though, that I have maybe taken music for granted. And maybe taking a step back from it will grant me a new appreciation for the art form that has meant so much to me an been a big, if not the biggest, part of my life, since I can remember.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Not listening to or producing any kind of music, to the best of my abilities.

Paulo Coelho

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Sometimes it's a good idea to listen to the quiet, to listen to the voices around you, to listen to the ambiance and silence. And sometimes music can be used to blot out what needs to be thought about.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Keeping the radio off, not turning on my iPod (or iTunes) and generally meditating on the silence.

Don Hargraves
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I would like to see how different my day is without music. I think it is a good idea to give it up, and take the time to think about music's role in the world and within my life.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: not listening to my ipod, itunes, radio or play any cds on the 21st.

Andrew Such

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Aye i've found this really interesting, music is drug for me, just couldn't live without it, thatz why i will observe NO MUSIC DAY, against those who have been killing music durin these last years, music will never die, music is freedom! KEEP IT REAL from ITALY.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: not listenin to music at all from sunrise 2 sunset.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will be teaching drums - arguably nae making music, he he he, for once the drummers can hae a day withoot ither fowks noise getting in the way o haeing a good time, cheers Biz.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: doing my best not to listen to music in the hope that I will appreciate it more the day after.

Jamie Marshall
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: It's a pointless exercise. Music is an integral part of our culture, and this event serves no purpose. Why deny it? It certainly won't make people appreciate music more, that boat already sailed, and I seriously doubt you'll have the iPod generation turning off their music tomorrow. BBC Scotland should find better causes to put its name behind, and everyone involved should seriously get a grip on reality. You may as well have a "No reading" day, it'll make people appreciate written English more.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Listening to my iPod as usual, at my desk, at work, at the gym and on the bus, while thinking of things that will actually get people more interested in good music.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: First of all, I'd like to thank Bill Drummond for honouring my birthday in such a novel and appropriate form. But, to acknowledge 'music' as somehow separate from 'sound' is such a hopelessly outdated concept. Organise a 'No Sound Day' by all means, but music as a concept died in the 20th Century. To see the post-convergent, three dimensional audiovisual medium it has become, visit for example my work at http://yamanakanash.net Then you will realise that this reflex you are exercising reacts not to the ubiquity of music, but to the uselessness of music in the post-convergent era. All the best, Adam Nash

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Not writeing my jingle for sleepywhisper.com, not listening to any MP3s, by reading a good book.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I WILL OBSERVE NO MUSIC DAY IN SUPPORT OF IDEALISM, AND IN HONOUR OF ALL TALENTED MUSICIANS WHO HAVE TOO SUFFER MORE THAN MOST AT THE CONSTANT COMMERCIAL MISSREPRESENTATION OF THEIR ART, AND ASCETIC INTENTIONS, AND THEREFORE DEVALUATION OF THEIR LIFE EFFORTS. YOU MAY LAUGH!..BUT JUST LOOK AT THE EFFECT ON THE SELF-CORRUPTING MOVIE WORLD AFTER THE RECENT WRITERS STRIKE. I THINK THIS IDEA HAS LEGS AND MAY EVENTUALLY WALK AS FAR AS MUSICIANS STRIKING IN PROTEST AT THE COMMERCIAL USURPANCE AMD MISSAPPLICATION OF THEIR WORK. ABSENCE DOES MAKE THE HEART GROW FONDER, EVEN THE AYATOLAHS OF CONTEMPORARY CULTURE AND BUSINESS MUST SUSPECT THAT. WITHOUT THOSE ARTISTS WHO LIVE AND QUESTION THE NORM IN THE POTENTIALY SELF- HARMING WORLD OF THE CREATIVE IMAGINATION ALL CIVILISATIONS WOULD UNARGUABLY STAGNATE, AND PERHAPS EVEN PERISH IN HOPELESSNESS. I EXAGERATE NOT!!

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I am observing no music day by listening to speech radio about things that are interesting and being very grateful for no ghastly noise of old records, rockers, etc. Most times, what passes for music is a bloody nuisance.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Either way music will be made. As we all know and as John Cage made clear there is music in the silence.

Dan W

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: switching off my printer. my printer talks to me, and it's rhythmic working life drums relevant words and phrases into me. it's not always sweet music either. it chuggs out the phrase "drug dealer, drug dealer, drug dealer..." through hours of the day. it prints 8x6 glamour cards. marketing. fear not though. the battle has already been won. the poisons that the industry has gleefully, greedily swallowed are taking effect. the future is ours again. the dinosaur draws it's final breaths. maybe the mayan's werent just on the worlds most fantastic trip when they wrote their calender.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Bill knows the reason.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Recording seven minutes and 23 seconds of silence on 20 November and playing loud on a constant loop on my stereo on 21 November.

Mark Gibson

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I am 44 on the 21st November 2007, I deeply resent the photo on this site indicating entering my country highlighting NO MUSIC DAY and that BBC RADIO SCOTLAND will not be playing any music what so ever, as a former music journalist who used to work for a Talking News Paper For The Blind I find the who day repulsive and should be ridiculed and belittled as much as possible, I just hope the artists who lose out on royalties for song writting, mechanical copyright etc are compencated by the idiot who can afford to burn one million pounds, he better watch out if we ever has a Class Action System of retribution regarding law suites he would need more than one million pounds to compencate people. For god sake grow up!!!

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Asking the Musicians Union in Scotland and Trading Standards in Glasgow to Take legal Action on my behalf against this site -and those at BBC Scotland to comkpencate artist for lost revenue and Licence Fee Payers for a portion of the Licence fee, a full representation will be made to the Inland Revenue for loss of earnings and revenue lost to the UK because of this infintile and proposterous gesture

STEWART EADIE
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Music is an essential part of everyone's lives, it is taken for granted. We hear it in our commercials, in our movies, televisions, radios, ipods...yet through all that, what would it be like if the music just dissapeared. From the hardest metal in the universe: Dragonforce, to the videogame orchestra playing Uematsu, this day of no music should be observed to show those of us around the world just how much importance music has on our daily lives.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will observe no music day by banning music of any kind from my daily life and encouraging others to do so as well.

The Chief

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: there's a football match on, so its suits me. Now, the Croat anthem will be booed out, but God Save the Queen will be belted out. I may shut my eyes during it. Or you could argue that an anthem is more a motif than art.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: watching england play croatia

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: this is ridiculous.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: still listening good music.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: every now and then it's good to switch off from music. I couldn't live without it but whatever i was gonna play on my way to work tomorrow will hopefully sound a lot better come thursday morning!!! My brain will be eager to hear music more so than it will tomorrow. Probably.

Brian
20/11/2007

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will be observing NO MUSIC DAY because I feel that if everyone stops and reflects on what they listen to and how it affects their day then they will learn to regard music not just as background noise-but as the key component of life that it is.On a slightly less serious note I assume that Radio 1 listeners won't know when the news is on due to the lack of an irritating "news-beat" in the background! Nice one Mr Drummond, lang may yer lum reek!!!!

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Checking out John Cage's composition 4"33.

20/11/2007

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Interesting idea Bill but it's impossible. Any sound can be redefined as 'music' As John Cage said 'there is no such thing as silence. Even in a vacumn you would still hear the sound of Blood moving around you veins' ...well, you would have to be dead to fully realise 'No Music Day' ...so maybe that's what your proposing? Let get closer to death for a day - Death Day!!..?

David Green

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I shall or shall not

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Will or not willing to be dictated to

Howard Young
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I usually have my music with me everywhere. I usually let out some verbal sound every day. Maybe a change would be good, even if just for a day?

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: talk as little as possible. Some have said that Swedish sounds as songs, that we sing when we talk.

Sigrid
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: there is no need to signify an artform’s importance by depriving one's self of it because surely the act of indulgence is proof itself of music's importance and value, blah blah blah...........

Stewart Paling
20/11/2007

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: allowing the soft melody of very mild tinnitus a 24 hours session, all to itself, at which it may entertain me with a continual track list of its own making

Angie
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: after all, silence is golden.

Michael Hall

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: music is the only fucking thing that works in my head.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: listening to music all day

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Leaving all my guitars in their cases and not switching on any synths, drum machines or those nasty computer thingys. I might even stay in bed all day so's I don't have to listen to the birds singing and if I do go out i'll take my ear plugs. Really looking forwards to Thursday when I'm going to write a song in praise of St. Cecilia - or did someone beat me to that already? More power to your elbow Mr. Drummond, what a great idea! Yours (in silence) The Twisted Plank Spanker. 'Effectus super absolutionem' http://www.jointintelligencecommittee.com http://www.myspace.com/jointintelligencecommittee

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: It is my choice. Nobody is being forced to observe No Music Day or do so in any particular way. It is a choice, in the same way that some people may choose to listen to bad music. I am happy with my choice.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: making the most of my other senses. I will surround myself with the sights, smells and tastes that will give me the undoubted pleasure, but do not always get the same credit as the music in my life. I will think long and hard about the track that will break my music fast. After all, shouldn’t the music enhance our life and not dictate it?

Gray
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Because its fuckin stupid.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will not be observing this...

DJ Digga
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Cecilia, stop playing your harp*, you're making the scottish man crazy Oh Cecilia, can't listen to Squeeze or Three Degrees, on your phone On your phone.... *I know she didn't play a harp, she played violin and a flute but they wouldn't fit in with my singalong. :)

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: continuing to write singalongs and singing out of tune. It's not officially "music" so I think I can get away with it

SJ
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I will free another sense to clear my mind so that it will be able to function without distraction and influence of another person's thoughts.

Michael Anderson
20/11/2007

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Listening to and composing my music like I have for 8 hours every single day of the last oh I can't remember months/years. This is a silly concept. No music day? Is there a point? Now Buy Nothing Day. I can get behind that. Nov. 23 - http://adbusters.org/metas/eco/bnd/

Ellery Keller
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I'm playing a gig on No Music Day, and we can't very well stand on stage in silence now can we?

Craig Taylor
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I do not feel that I am oversaturated with music, and thus do not need to fast from it. I appreciate every moment of the music I expose myself to, and I already take time to soak in silence, to take off my headphones and talk to people out in the real world. It's all about balance, not just taking one day to step back from the world of music (although maybe that will help some folks).. Music is one of the strongest, most important healing influences in the human world, and I see no need to cut myself off from it :)

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Listening to the most meaningful, inspiring, and beautifully created music in my collection as much as humanly possible within the scope of 24 hours, and absorbing every moment of it into the deepest, most human part of me that intrinsically needs music to survive.

Mylia
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Perhaps by staying in complete silence all day I may appreciate music even more than I do already.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I do think that music is taken for granted these days. Hence, on wednesday I will not practice my instruments, I will not go to concert band at school, I will not listen to the radio or listen to music on my laptop/walkman. I will avoid listening to music of any kind to the best of my ability although this is probably unrealistic considering I have a music lesson :D

Eve
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I actually observe 2 days similar to this, except they include both going without music (except for services) and a "fast" from radio and internet. As a church musician, cutting myself off from music and miscellaneous outside noises for Ash Wednesday and Good Friday is a powerful aid to focussing on the important things of life, both sacred and secular.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: going about my normal business, which in this case will include work (without music as much as possible) and a pre-Thanksgiving church service (where I WILL sing).

Robin in the US
20/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I am revolting against the consumer culture! Every year the terrible noise of bad christmas songs comes earlier and earlier. Soon it will be xmas all year round. Lets not forget BUY NOTHING DAY: 23rd. The day after thanksgiving.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: turning off the radio at work

karie
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: it's a great idea! Hail Hail Bill Drummond- much props from me!

Antonio DePietro
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Will not be observing because in order to appreciate music all I need to listen to. I give thanks for music every single day. Music is my friend, therapy, lullaby. Music is my sport.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will not be observing by continuing to listen to music for 10 + hours a day and making mix cds and spreading music to the world. I will also be playing clarinet and going to drumline practice.

Ashley Stinson
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: It seems to me the best way to combat anything negative is with something positive. Good music to combat crappy music.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will play music just like I do every day - and listen to and seek out good new music, like i do every day. Good luck - it seems like you've got noble intentions.

Sweet-Tooth Simpleton
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: its pathetic and ridiculous!

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Listen to a lot of music and playin music aswell!

Angela Scholes
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I want to see if you're right.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: trying really hard.

Alan Kazaam
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: In the great idea No Music Day, here in Brazil could also be disclosed. It would be glorious 24 hours without Funk, Pagode, AXE.

Flavio Hott
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: A day without music is a day not worth living through. Instead, I'll be listening to The White Room from start to finish.

Tom
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Sometimes to think about something properly you have to take a step back from it.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Taking the day off.

Peter Nagle
19/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: i realistically cannot go 24 hours without some form of music, because music is my food, my water, my air. so instead i will do both. i'll listen to music which set the standard before music was killed. this industry which is supposed to cradle and help music grow is sitting back and counting it's millions as the very thing it is supposed to protect is destroyed. new artists are judged by their looks first, never talent. if Aretha Franklin tried to become a singer today, in her form, she would be left in the dust because of her weight. if Ray Charles tried to enter the industry, he would be denied because he is blind. a musician is to be judged never on appearance or personality, but what talent the posess when they begin to sing or play an instrument, or pick up a pen to write a song. i am disgusted with the music industry... its not a talent business anymore, its an engineered sex show

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: listening to only music deemed as absolutely classic, such as the Rolling Stones 'Forty Licks' Greatest Hits album, Miles Davis' 'Kind of Blue' album or Aretha Franklin's 'I Never Loved a Man' album

Andrew Martone
18/11/2007

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Bill - I've just read your 2006 Guardian article and I share your frustration and most of your views on this. However I won't be 'observing' the day you've designated for three reasons. (1)I'd prefer to choose when to take music out of my life, (2)I can't see any particular value in lots of people all doing it on a fixed date, and(3)I don't think one day is long enough to have any value. I believe you need to do it for at least a week, preferably two. I've done the same thing with reading, and with watching TV and I can tell you it really helped me to appreciate what I do and don't value about both. I'm sure the same would happen with music, but, as i say,I think it needs to be a matter of personal choice as to when you do it, and needs to be for much longer than one day to have any effect.

choonsmith
18/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: No Music Day is too extreme. No BAD Music Day? Now that I can get behind 100%. A day without 99.8% of all the rap and pop music ever made would be a prelude of what heaven might be like.

Alexander Riley
18/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: The chewing gum regains it's flavour on the bedpost overnight. (I'm sure Lonnie Donegan knew this all along).

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Going to work and listening to Radio Scotland when I get home. Then at midnight I'll play my CD of Handel's Ode to St Cecilia's Day. (With apologies to Ian Anderson but I can think of nothing more appropriate to break my abstinance).

Tom Carreyette
17/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: it gives me a chance to manipulate my friends. and i need a break from the music.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: impossing my (and your) will upon my weaker friends. my stronger friends will hopefully follow like sheep.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: it's just too hard

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: talking

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: i could do with a day to purge all the music i've been listening to over the years,a days grace to recoup and start again .I think its a great idea , i don't think i've had a no music day before .............

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: playing no cd's / mp3's in my car ,and no head phones at work.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Most of the music one hears especially on radio is pish!

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: As usual listening to talk or sport programmes.

Ewan Epton
16/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: we live in an era of constant aural bombardment. sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes it isn't. and i choose to use no music day to draw my own conclusions on how music is used in the society i live in.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: taking note of where and when i inadvertantly hear music, considering what i think of its use in that context, and then probably writing a blog post about it which will seem deeply interesting to me, but probably deeply pompous to anyone reading it.

miriam
15/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Well, I'm not actually. The enterprise is rather fatuous and seems to assume that people require a day without music in order to appreciate it. Which is nonsense. Also, picking the day by way of a christian saint seems to stymie a message that aspires to global relevence (to say nothing of any religion's utter irrelevence).

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Listening to John Cage's 4'33", on repeat, all day. Wait a second...

FURY-161

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: listening to good music, it's only music baby, it's only music !

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Прикольный сайт и идея, но провести день без музыки думаю не получится

Илья Рос
6/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: i think Bill Drummond is brilliant

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Unpluging my decks/CD player, Not touching any musical instruments, Not listening to radio in car or at work, Changing mobile phone to silent mode, Watching T.V in mute with subtitles, And by putting up NO MUSIC DAY posters around my town

mza
6/11/2007

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: The rise of the 'Formulaic' music industry is frankly boring, old and jaded. The energy and music of the late 80's and early 90's really requires to be brought back somehow before another 23 years passes from the old days of '87.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Listening only to BBC radio scotland, which um as far as I know does not ever play music. Well at the weekends it may be crazy accordion stuff with bill mcplurg and his band...

Theveneau

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Sorry to be contrary, but I will be observing No Music Day by making and listening to as much music as I can. I need some momentum to encourage composing breakthroughs, so I figure that the (small) reduction in music-related activities on the 21st might create some kind of crazy, inward-sucking silence, which could draw out some good ideas. Thanks for the reminder.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Doing what I normally do.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: it\'s a great way to just think. For, like...5 seconds, without hearing any musical noise. I bet if people didn\'t listen to music for a day, the noise pollution would be cut waaaay back. Seriously.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: not playing music and telling others in my family not to...as well as others.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: i am intrigued by this strange idea that all modern music is commercial shite. perhaps this reflects the narrow minded scope of the people who partake in NO MUSIC DAY as opposed to the percieved poor state of music today? if you are really that disenfrnachised by music today then go out and make some of your own!! (do it on NO MUSIC DAY perhaps and stop being so fucking miserable)

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: listening to lots of music as i always do.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I remember when I couldn't even afford to pay the electric and couldn't listen to music and the joy when I got the electric back on and listened to my music with fresh appreciation, I want to capture that sensation of joy at realising how wonderful it is by a self imposed silence even if it is just for a day..

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Not listening to any music, turning off the TV/radio/Computer in case I accidently catch some. Taking the day off work so I don't even have to listen to a mobile phone ring tone.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Great Art, like great music, makes us think. Our thoughts make us unique. Quiet. I'm thinking...

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Thinking carefully about which piece of music I'd like to shatter the silence with on the 22nd. And by imagining the most earth shattering, dirty, ripping basslines, and putting them into practice at www.myspace.com/stratexflow. And wondering what stitchandflow are going to sound like now that we've been photographed by our standing stones on the isle of Mull. And when my cold sore will disappear. And what did Grace Kelly taste like. And...

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I think it is a good way to show me again what music means to me in everyday life. music can help me in every situation, when i'm sad or when i'm happy, there's always the right music, and i don't know what it would be like without it. We'll see on 21st november. of course, the no music day won't change the developpment of nature and the global warming, or help any poor people in africa, but i think that's not what this day is supposed to do. For me, it will be a real challenge to get along a whole day without my music.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Bands make music, not talent shows. The old gits must return to Ferndale Road and declare WAR on high trousers.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Music is the tool which the Devil uses to ensnare young people and lead them to a life of Fun and Fulfillment, instead of Worthy Boredom and The Promise Of Potential Fun After Death.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Killing any animal I find that dares to make a noise which can be interpreted in any way, shape or form as music. I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: It's good to have some quiet. As a musician, I also need to refrain from listening to music for at least one day, so as to not be over-influenced by some other band.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: art is dead. Style, substance, meaning is exhausted. All I have to offer is either crap or rehashed plagiarism.
