I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Music is an everyday part of my body, my soul and my life. There is absolutely no reason for me to renounce music. You will find an appropriate track for every mood and every event that may happen, so why not play it?

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will attend the ball of FH Oberösterreich in Hagenberg and I will dance to music because dancing without music is like living without a soul.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I am observing No Music Day because • there's noise that I don't want to hear, so I admittedly abuse music to block it out. Today is a chance to reconsider my relationship with certain avoided noise. • No Music Day is a way to get more distance from and perspective on what music does for me. • No Music Day is a grand and most welcomed idea, even if utterly frightening at first. There's a lot of things and people connected to music that have made this day (and similar action) necessary, possibly forever. Thanks for making it. • No Music Day is a chance for the betterment of art/music/culture from its confined relationship with endless consumption/decoration/commercial manipulation & association/careers and the limitations on culture imposed by such/all the obvious RIAA stuff/crap labels/MTV and other corporations trying to win over young demographics for sponsors/manufacture style & culture, etc. - All that lofty & academic capitalism vs art stuff... Something like a chance for redemption. • No Music Day is an outlet to mark my dissatisfaction with music and culture both publicly here, and privately as well.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: avoiding all music.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: angesichts dieser Überlegung ein Tag im Jahr doch wirklich wenig ist.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: mich an einen Artikel des Komponisten Friedhelm Döhl erinnere, der am Neujahrstag des Jahres 2000 in den Lübecker Nachrichten erschien. In diesem Artikel schlug Döhl vor, im ganzen Jahr 2000 keine Musik ertönen zu lassen und im darauf folgenden Jahr ausschließlich Musik des 21. Jahrhunderts.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: even as adults, we have to ground our inner selfs from what has deprived and consumed our identity. Music is a bittersweet art, played now to be consumed by pop zombies, music has lost its motives to aspire and change people as a whole. Sometimes silence can restore the remaining creativity we have within OURSELVES that haven't been scrutinized by the media. I do believe that music is an outburst of the soul, but its sometimes healthy to not hear other's soul at times and just reflect on your own.

Eddie Castillo

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Music in public is becoming more and more intrusive. I have to listen to the radio at work all day, annoyingly just out of earshot so a percentage of my brain is always pre-occupied with trying to work out what the song is. And then I go to the bank at lunchtime, and they are playing loud pop music. Cross the road into the local shopping centre, and they are blasting musak at me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: wearing large ear muffs.

Lord Rankin

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: As a DJ, I'm inundated with music to the point that it's in danger of becoming just a part of work. I rarely listen to music for the sheer joy of it; it's a chore to find new music that I like because new songs I hear also have a subconscious test given to it in regards to if people would dance to it. Taking part in No Music Day will be part of my effort to reclaim my enjoyment of music by cleansing my palate and starting over freshly.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Not DJing, not watching television, not turning on the radio at work, not going to the local club, not humming, not whistling, not indulging in music at all.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Cause music has lost it's way as an ideal, becoming meerly a noise that we block out at will. we live in a world where tunes are something that we are exposed to, making them less special to the mind.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Not using ANY form of media device, muting the TV when required, avoiding public bars & cafes where music is played, not picking up my bass or other instruments, plus any other ways I think of.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will not be observing No Music Day on the 21st November, as I already made big music plans for a lot of people, before finding out about its existence. However, i believe it to be a very powerful event and will instead observe it the day after. This will make sure I am a human being trying to understand the extraordinary power music holds over me.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I can't see any reason for this day, looking at the statements made on this website has left me none the wiser. I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: i realy only have one reason for not liestening to music for one day. To realise how important music is to my life. But i already know that. So there is no reason for not liestening to it. There is, problably, some wrong use of music, and not using those \'\'forms\'\' is a kind of statement everyone can make. Every person can make a choice but one thing is certain for me - music is a part of our evolution and probably the only universal form of comunication.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: The only reason that i wouldn't liesten to music is to realise i important that is to my life. Since i already know that there no point on doing that. There's, probably, some wrong use of music and everyone can make a statment for or against that forms. What ever they may be. One thing is certain - music is a part of our evolution and probably the only universal form of comunicaton.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: maybe music isn't meant to be spoon-fed to us. Maybe we should, I dunno, actually look for it? There is good music out there for anyone who cares to listen and "no music day" is a slap in the face to every independent musician who's work is considered irrelevant by everyone who doesn't hear it on MTV- the same people who marginalize good music the name of saving it- saving it by rejecting music all together.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: rejecting its asinine reactionary lunacy. I will listen to mp3's, CD's, and LP's. I will crank my headphones and my stereo. I will listen to music from the moment I wake up to the moment I fall asleep, because my taste in music defines what I listen to, not corporate media playlists.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: Several years ago, I realized that I was constantly 'turned on' - TV, radio, cds, computers, etc. I never had a quiet moment. Music and media are great, but we might be the first generation to have it be omnipresent in our lives. A woman I was dating told me that she couldn't do anything alone, or even sleep without a TV on at all times for background noise. That made me aware of how much I myself was filling in silence with noise. Also, around the same time, I was told by a doctor that I had partial hearing loss, maybe from loud music exposure. There was no maybe about it, I always had powerful stereos in my cars, and I always had them cranked to 11. So I spent a month not turning on any electronic media device, and just talking with friends to find out news, weather, etc. It really changed my perspective. I now always seek out times every day and week, when I can find the most silence, and enjoy some un-distracted thoughts.

I am (or am not) observing No Music Day because: I am not observing NO MUSIC DAY because, music is a part of my life. It IS my life. It is music that keeps me breathing every day and every night. To stop the music would be suicide. The music is a part of me. And I appreciate every note, every line that comes out of my speakers. Because music gave me happiness and hope when I couldn't find any.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: I will not be observing NO MUSIC DAY by, locking myself up in my room, playing every single album I have ever bought in order of the year the album was released. [[which should be awesome since I have everything from The Kings to Anthrax to My Chemical Romance]] And whilst I do this, I shall take the chance to appreciate every song that is played, even if I happen to hate some of them.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: Não concordo com essa possibilidade, não consigo imaginar a realidade de um dia sem música, além de ser impossível, é completamente desnecessário.

I will (or will not) be observing No Music Day by: É válido o manifesto.
